Taraval Storefronts

The Taraval commercial district—Taraval Street from 19th Avenue to 48th Avenue—features several nodes of active retail activity broken up by residential and office uses. People of Parkside Sunset (POPS), formerly Taraval Parkside Merchants Association (TPMA), is an active association of merchants and neighbors that promotes and advocates for the corridor, and leads activities and events.

The corridor features affordable cafés and restaurants, including Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese cuisines, and local-serving retail and service businesses. Taraval is a large, diverse commercial corridor with approximately 205 businesses and not a high level of daytime foot traffic. The corridor features a high number of eating and drinking places, with opportunities for growth in jewelry, luggage, leather goods, books, periodicals, and music stores. It is served by the L-Taraval MUNI line.
